The Role:
Avolon is appointing a Transaction Counsel to our Dublin office. The successful candidate will work under the direction of a Head of Transaction Legal for the purpose of executing the tasks and responsibilities associated with the legal team with a primary focus on managing transactions from letter of intent to final binding contract.

Transaction Counsel candidates must have a legal and commercial background with experience in aircraft leasing and aircraft financing.

Core Duties:
-Managing transactions through documentation phase to contract signature and closing
-Ensuring that all documentation is completed to meet deadlines and in accordance with Avolon standards and guidelines
-Managing dispute resolution and litigation matters
-Being the front person for Avolon in contract negotiations with airlines, banks, aircraft buyers and sellers, manufacturers and maintenance providers
-Managing and coordinating input from technical, credit, finance and commercial departments into transaction negotiation and documentation
-Appointing and managing external legal counsel in all relevant jurisdictions
-Providing input and expertise in initial transaction structuring process

The Person:
You will be driven, focussed, and resourceful as well as being an excellent relationship builder. You will always act with integrity and model your own behaviour to the highest standard. You will represent Avolon in a transparent and honest manner setting a strong example for others to follow. You will be able to articulate complex concepts and put forward compelling arguments and rationales to all levels and audiences within Avolon and the industry.

Essential Skills and Experience:
-Qualification as a solicitor or barrister is desirable
-Experience in managing and negotiating aircraft financing and/or leasing transactions is essential
-Commercial awareness
-Previous experience of managing multiple relationships
-Strong oral and written communication skills
-Self-motivated and keen to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
-Ability to work under own initiative and take ownership of area of responsibility
-Ambassadorial capability to represent Avolon
-Excellent transaction management skills
-Ability to travel internationally
