The Role:

Based in Dublin and reporting to the Head of EMEA, the SVP Origination will be responsible for aircraft origination and marketing in the EMEA region to include management and development of business relationships across the region.

Core Duties:

-Pursue new aircraft placement, existing fleet aircraft remarketing and origination of Sale & Leaseback opportunities in the EMEA region;
-Develop, nurture and upgrade airline relationships in the EMEA region through face-to-face airline coverage, customer events and ongoing business communication with airline counterparts;
-Prepare, negotiate and execute Letters of Intent with airline customers in line with risk and return hurdles;
-Lead and manage cross-functional deal teams including the development as required of all internal documents and logistical requirements to present deal opportunities and market updates internally e.g. meeting notes, V1 papers (Credit Committee), Restructuring memos etc.
-Work closely with the Head of EMEA and EMEA colleagues in preparing and implementing marketing plans and strategies;
-Mentoring and coaching colleagues in Avolon.


Your career to date will demonstrate your passion for big-ticket deal-making in aircraft leasing, with a proven track record in originating and negotiating complex transactions across a diverse range of airlines and cultures, ideally in the EMEA region. When not travelling, you will be comfortable being largely based in our Dublin office as mentoring and developing others will also form a natural part of your role.

Essential Skills and Experience:

-A minimum of five (5) years` experience in a similar role in aviation leasing with requisite deal track record and reputation, ideally garnered in the EMEA region.
-Significant network of industry relationships to include airlines, OEMs and Lessors, ideally in EMEA;
-Superior emotional intelligence with demonstrated ability in managing multiple complex deal situations in high pressure situations both internally and externally;
-Keen understanding of technical and legal issues on Airbus and Boeing aircraft;
-Proven commercial ability and understanding of the legal and commercial issues impacting lease decision-making and business risk/reward hurdles;
-Exposure to lease restructuring, ideally including experience of airline bankruptcies;
-Team player with significant experience in leading and managing deal/project team;
-Willingness and an ability to travel extensively in the EMEA region.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

-Technical and/or legal experience in negotiating transactions;
-Specific transaction experience in francophone nations and the Middle East and/or fluency in French and Arabic;
-Fluency in a second language such as French, Spanish, Arabic, Italian, Russian etc. or direct experience in countries within the EMEA region (outside of Ireland/UK).
